Windy Boats has officially opened its new production hall in Västervik, south of Stockholm, Sweden.
The hall was first announced in May 2024 to cater to continued strong demand for the brand’s tenders and chase boats along with new large boat model projects.
The production hall provides Windy with an additional 2,300 square meters of production space enabling the boatbuilder to almost double its production along with building more advanced and larger vessels up to 75-feet in length.
The new 75-metres long assembly hall follows on from several recent site improvements including a new paint shop and new wharf.
Flagship yacht
Following on from the new factory opening, Windy has said it plans to take on around 50 new employees.
The Windy range now encompasses 18 models ranging from Yacht Tenders to Sports Line and Sport Cruisers.
The latest model is the SR77 which is the largest yacht in Windy’s history and described as an evolution of the chase boat and weekend cruiser concept.
The craft has been designed for long-range performance.
Bespoke boatbuilding
Windy was established in 1966 and made its first foray into bespoke boatbuilding in 2009. The company began to concentrate on the specialised market after the launch of the Windy Dubois SR52 Blackbird in 2010.
The company builds boats ranging in size from 7 metres to 24 metres.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by almost 200 guests and staff who were provided with a preview of its anniversary edition models.
