The 39th edition of Hiswa te Water 2024 saw more than 440 new boats from around the world exhibited at the Bataviahaven and an increase in visitor numbers on last year’s 30,000.

And the Hiswa te Water organisation has confirmed an agreement has been signed for the show to be held at Bataviahaven for the next five years.

“We had more visitors than ever, exhibitors from a record number of countries and a hugely enjoyable, festive atmosphere,” said Hiswa te Water exhibition director Arjen Rahusen. “It could hardly be otherwise with beautiful weather and such beautiful boats in such a perfect location.”

Prior to the show, the Boat of the Year awards were presented with the Xc47 awarded Sailing Yacht of the Year and the Northman 1050 Trawler electric receiving a motorboats award.

The Van Baerdt Docker e65 received the prize in the Sloops and Tenders category and the Startup Award was awarded to Santos Boats.

There was a lifetime achievement award for Hans Webbink of Steeler Yachts.

The show was praised by exhibitors with Hans van Veen of Vedette Jachtbouw stating: “On the last day we sold another new Vedette and that is ultimately what we are here for.”

Vanquish Yachts was at this year’s Hiswa te Water for the first time with Thijmen Bolle pleased to be showing the brand – which is well known in the US – in Europe.

“Now that we are focusing a bit more on Europe, it is important that our custom-built boats are also appreciated at home,” he said. “That certainly happened here. We had no shortage of attention, and it generated some nice leads.”

Jack Verbeek of Van den Hoven Jachtbouw was also enthusiastic about Hiswa te Water 2024. ‘I can’t really think of anything negative,” he said. “The fair was very well attended, we had beautiful weather, and the organisation was top-notch. After the Boatshow, we will still get busy processing the information requests and trial runs.”

The next edition will take place from Wednesday 3 to Sunday 7 September 2025.
