Twin Disc has completed its $16.5 million acquisition of Canadian based marine systems manufacturer Kobelt Manufacturing Co. Ltd.
The acquisition is intended to expand Kobelt’s international reach. In addition, Kobelt will contribute complementary products to diversify and enhance Twin Disc’s portfolio in the industrial and marine sectors.
Kobelt, based in British Columbia, has its own in-house foundry and bronze die casting capabilities featuring precision machining, assembly and testing.
These facilities together with the provision of after-sales services ensure quality control.

For the year ending December 31, 2024, Kobelt delivered around $14 million of revenue. The acquisition is expected to be immediately accretive to Twin Disc’s US earnings.
Twin Disk is known for its power transmission technology for marine and land-based applications.
The company has a direct sales force and a distributor network selling products to customers primarily in the pleasure craft, commercial and military marine markets, as well as in the energy and natural resources, government and industrial markets.
Kobelt has more than 60 years of experience in designing and producing products for the marine and industrial sectors.
The company specialises in brake, control and steering systems for industrial and marine end markets.
