Twiel Z7 to debut at boot Düsseldorf

After three years of design and construction, MIZU Marine’s Twiel Z7 will debut at boot Düsseldorf in January 2025 combing new design, natural building materials and electric drive.

Michael Zupritt’s southern German company MIZU Marine began designing the new boat in 2021 with the aim of meeting the increasing demand for electric boats on Lake Constance and other inland waters.

The craft, is based on a retro-design using twin hulls and powered by two i20 ePropulsion 20kW electric motors.

The patented hull shape has been designed to allow the boat to glide through the water for a ‘pleasant driving experience’.

The aim of the company is ‘nothing less than the creation of a new ship concept, the implementation of new technologies and at the same time the introduction of a new driving experience and driving pleasure’.

Sustainable materials

The Twiel is constructed using a plywood lattice frame, combining sustainable materials and modern lightweight construction.

The craft has a length of 7.9m, with a 2.55m width and a draft of 0.60m. It weighs 1.6 tonnes and can take up to six crew.

“The design is inspired by the neo-retro lines of MIZU history and will delight even the most demanding customer,” explained a spokesperson.

“The Twiel Z7 is indeed a world first. The MIZU project is part of a major trend in today’s world, which is rightly becoming more and more interested in the environment and sustainable development.

“It allows its potential buyers to satisfy their taste for technology focused on fun and aesthetic refinement, while making a socially responsible statement.

“On board the Twiel, the skipper becomes the captain again.”

The spokesperson concluded: “MIZU is presenting a world first in the industry: the joy of sporty driving, achieved through top performance in quality and design, coupled with environmental awareness.”
