Wellcraft has unveiled three new 28-foot models – the Wellcraft 28 Speedster, the Wellcraft 28 T-Top, and the Wellcraft 28 Explorer.
Each shares the same hull design, while answering different needs: either open-air freedom with or without T-Top, or a fully protected wheelhouse.
The Wellcraft 28 T-Top and Wellcraft 28 Explorer will make their world premiere at boot Düsseldorf 2026.
The North American debut of the Wellcraft 28 T-Top will be at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2026.
Wellcraft has designed four distinct aft cockpit configurations for the new models.
The lounge comes standard and is able to accommodate up to 13 people, with nine forward-facing seats for optimal safety at speed.
Lighter, stiffer and stronger structure
The Barracuda layout offers a fold-up seating bench with live well, fish box, bait drawers, and various rod holding solutions.
Both Wellcraft 28 T-Top and Wellcraft 28 Speedster models are available with the Relax aft cockpit layout arrangement which includes a large sunbed, hidden storage, and additional seating.
The Sleeper layout is exclusive to the Explorer model and has two berths, combined with an exterior lounging space.
The boats are constructed using the company’s Wellcraft Infujection Structure Engineering (W.I.S.E.) technology — an infusion/injection combo where the hull and stringers are moulded as a single part.
Top speed exceeding 50 knots
This has been developed to deliver a lighter, stiffer, and stronger structure with an optimised power-to-weight ratio and reduced environmental impact.
To build the 28-foot line Wellcraft partnered with Helsinki-based specialist in stepped hulls, Navia, to design a boat that planes and accelerates faster, runs drier, and handles rough seas.
The Wellcraft 28 is available with single or twin outboards and has a top speed exceeding 50 knots.
Additional features of the new craft include a closed transom, high bulwarks, oversized handrails, rubrails, a dive door, and solid forward-facing seats.
The craft have a one-level walkaround deck while the Wellcraft 28 T-Top further adapts to all conditions with a choice of High or Sport windshield options.
