Sea.AI collaborates with Tocaro Blue

Sea.AI, provider of artificial intelligence for maritime vision, is collaborating with Tocaro Blue to integrate the radar perception software ProteusCore into its AI-driven navigation platform.

The collaboration is aimed at enhancing object detection, identification, and decision-making in all visibility conditions.

Development is underway, with availability targeted for Q4 2025 as a software upgrade for existing Sea.AI systems.

“Merging radar with optical and thermal vision will allow us to deliver a fully AI-enhanced safety system,” said Marcus Warrelmann, CEO of Sea.AI.

“We are not just reading instruments. We are making them intelligent.”

Sea.AI introduced its first onboard safety systems using machine vision technology in 2018 with this product collaboration a continuation of the company’s product development.

Sea.AI says it is building on its proprietary database of millions of annotated marine objects to take its multi-sensor fusion approach to the next level bycombining high-resolution optical, thermal, AIS, and radar data into a single navigation interface.

The combination of advanced radar perception with Sea.AI’s machine vision technology will improve distance estimation and collision avoidance while providing 360-degree situational awareness in even the poorest conditions.

“Tocaro Blue is proud to support Sea.AI’s mission of saving lives at sea by empowering their products with our advanced ProteusCore AI Radar Perception software,” said John Minor, CEO of Tocaro Blue.

“Combining radar and camera technologies creates powerful sensor fusion, significantly enhancing situational awareness for maritime operators.

“We’re excited to bring this innovative solution to market in collaboration with Sea.AI.”
