Raymarine has collaborated with Zin Boats on a project to develop what is believed to be the world’s most advanced electric superyacht tender – the Z11.
The Z11 is associated with Feadship’s Project 821 that has been five years in the making and incorporates green technology allowing it to cruise and operate the yacht’s hotel load and amenities with hydrogen.
The Z11 tender has 400kWh of energy storage and features electric joystick steering for easier docking, custom software controls, and more to help it achieve what the company calls ‘world firsts’.
The tender has a speed of around 60mph and a 2000hp peak electric propulsion system.
It has a range of around 100+ nautical miles under normal operating conditions.
“The mission of our company has always been and will always be to push the needle of the growing electric vessel space, and we are confident we have done just that with the Z11,” said Piotr Zin, founder and CEO of Zin Boats.
“We can’t wait to continue innovating and growing with our amazing partners and this industry.”
In collaboration with Zin Boats, Raymarine developed a custom navigation and vessel automation experience powered by Raymarine Axiom 2 XL 19in and Axiom+ 9in chartplotter displays with YachtSense digital switching and vessel monitoring.
The Z11 support systems found on modern yachts, including comprehensive navigation and full communication package.
The Axiom displays offer intuitive touch screen control and Raymarine’s remote keypads, – the RMK-6 and RMK-10 – give the operator tactile command of the Z11’s navigation and digital switching functions.
A Ray90 modular VHF radio system and CP100 CHIRP DownVision sonar provide communications and echo sounding functionality.
“Collaborating with Zin Boats allowed us to push the boundaries of marine interface design, creating a custom software experience that perfectly complements the Z11’s innovative approach to electric boating,” explained Jamie Dery, vice president of Raymarine Americas.
“This collaboration exemplifies Raymarine’s unique ability to work hand-in-hand with visionary builders, delivering tailored solutions that set the standard in marine-electronics innovation.”
David Donovick, president and COO of Zin Boats, added: “We have been heads down working on the world’s most advanced electric tender and electric propulsion technology, which will scale across multiple boat platforms.”
