The sixth Olympic Yacht Show attracted more than 20,000 visitors to Olympic Marine in Lavrio during its four-day run.
Organisers reported 120 boats displayed in the water and participation from 400 brands. The fleet included motor yachts, sailing yachts and catamarans, while businesses covering electronics, equipment, brokerage and insurance exhibited ashore.
International attendance included more than 800 overseas visitors. Media representatives and marine industry executives travelled from over 15 countries, according to the organisers.
The event is focused on boat sales and brings shipyards, dealers, manufacturers, designers, service providers, maritime tourism businesses, investors and owners together at one marina.
International reach
“Over four days, Olympic Marine welcomed more than 20,000 visitors, 120 boats in the water and 400 brands, while the participation of visitors, professionals and media representatives from over 15 countries confirms the event’s international reach,” said Gerasimos Gerolimatos, chairman of the Olympic Yacht Show organising committee.
He added that the show had become an established platform for Greece’s yachting and maritime tourism sectors, and said organisers intended to expand the event in 2027.
Olympic Marine owner George Prokopiou said the event was intended to support maritime tourism and give marine businesses direct access to visitors.
And he pointed out that Greece could develop as a wider yachting hub, provided the sector operated within a stable, long-term policy framework.
“Our goal is to give new momentum to maritime tourism, and today the event has become a point of reference for the pleasure craft market in Greece,” Prokopiou said.
“I believe our country has everything it takes to become a hub of European and global yachting.”
Nikos Tzinieris, chief operating officer of EKO, which has sponsored the show for six consecutive years, added: “Yachting has enormous potential for the Greek economy, as it creates value, attracts new investment and develops quality tourism.”
