New Aquila Molokai 36 to receive global debut

Aquila Catamarans new Aquila 36 Molokai will receive its global debut at the 2025 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS).

The Aquila 36 Molokai is a purpose-built centre console fishing platform that builds on the 47 Molokai.

Features of the new model include a cabin with private head.

The cabin can be air-conditioned via an optional off-grid lithium battery package, and also features side hull windows for natural light and ventilation.

The 36 Molokai’s design prioritises both fishing functionality and all-around usability.

The vessel has a single-level deck with no step-up at the bow, a central walkthrough at the transom which has a diving ladder for easy water access.

Fishing or entertaining

The standard side tuna door, leaning post with bait prep station, and seating throughout make the boat suitable for fishing or entertaining.

Protected helm seating accommodates three people comfortably, while there is also full walk-around capability in front of the engines.

Integrated steps via the aft pillars provide access to the carbon fibre hardtop, which is structurally engineered to support an optional fishing tower without additional reinforcement.

The twin-hull design delivers the stability and ride quality, while double-stepped hulls provide improved performance.

Versatile platform

“The 36 Molokai represents our vision for what a modern fishing catamaran should be,” said Jean Raas, CEO and chief product officer of Aquila USA.

“We worked closely with Peart Yacht Design on the engineering, but the core concept came from understanding what anglers really need — a boat that can fish hard but also adapt as a versatile platform for family use or even as a yacht tender.

“The cabin and head space is what really sets us apart in this segment.”

FLIBS takes place from October 29 to November 2.
