North Carolina boatbuilder MJM Yachts has launched its V Series at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and unveiled plans for the 2027 MJM 47V alongside a redesigned, galley-down version of the 47R.
The V Series complements MJM’s existing X and R ranges, with an emphasis on open-air cruising and shared seating areas. The 47V follows the debut of the smaller 38V.
“Following the debut of the 38V, the new 47V takes our contemporary, social, open-air philosophy for the V Series to a larger platform,” said Natascia Hatch, MJM president and chief executive.
“This is a yacht designed not simply to accommodate guests, but to bring everyone on board together.”
Design changes
The 47V’s bridge seating extends towards the aft cockpit beneath an express hardtop. An aft galley and bar configuration is available.
Design changes include a sport-style steering wheel, contrasting with the destroyer-style wheel on the 47X, and ebony wood accents in the cabin.
Preliminary specifications give the 47V a length overall of 46ft 8in, a 12ft beam and a draught of 36in with the engines lowered.
Listed displacement is 17,730lb. Standard propulsion comprises twin Mercury 300hp Verado outboards, with twin Mercury V10 425hp Verados offered as an option. MJM lists a top speed above 50mph.
The revised 47R moves the galley below deck to create additional pilothouse seating. A raised deck provides more headroom and space for a larger second cabin.
Standard power
Accommodation also includes a primary cabin and a heads compartment with a separate walk-in shower.
The 47R shares the 47V’s listed length, beam and engines-down draught, but has a preliminary displacement of 19,432lb.
Its standard power is twin Mercury 600hp Verado outboards, with twin Volvo Penta 440 DPI units listed as an option. Its stated top speed also exceeds 50mph.
Both MJM models have listed fuel and freshwater capacities of 475 gallons and 90 gallons respectively.
