Dutch shipyard Jachtwerf Heeg has undergone a management buyout.
The announcement was made in a social media post by the team which stated that the change took effect from July 1 2025.
The current team consisting of Frans-Jan Punt, Auke de Jong, Arno Bos, and Ezra Sijbrandij have taken over the shipyard from Geert Wijma.
The team will also reloate the yard to a new location at Draei 3, also in Heeg, Netherlands, with effect from October 1 2025 when the shipyard’s operations will continue from its own office and workshop.
Jachtwerf Heeg was founded in 1950 and is known for its high-quality sailing boats. The shipyard also incorporates a 100-berth marina.
Full-service yacht building company
The shipyard has been under Geert Wijma’s leadership since 2010, and over the last 15 years has expanded into a full-service yacht building company, known for the construction and service of Randmeer, G2, and Pointer yachts.
Seven sailboat models are currently offered that are delivered both domestically and internationally. In addition, a wide range of services are also offered.
“With great confidence, he [Geert Wijma] now hands over the reins to the established team that will continue the shipyard and guarantee quality and craftsmanship,” said the new team in a statement.
Boat delivery
The new team also plans to primarily focus on offering services such as maintenance, winter storage, brokerage, and the supply of sails and parts. In addition, delivery of newly built boats to order will remain possible.
The team says the new format is due to the structural change in demand for newly built sailboats in Europe.
“This full-service approach has been very successful for years,” continued the statement, with changes for the customer limited.
“On behalf of the entire team, we look forward to seeing you in Heeg,” concluded the shipyard.
