Hiswa te Water expands

Hiswa te Water is due to return in September 2025 with organisers stating the event will be bigger and more diverse than ever.

The 40th edition of the largest in-water boat show in Northwest Europe will take place in Lelystad with hundreds of exhibitors set to show their latest boats and nautical products.

Show organisers say many new companies have signed up for a spot at the jetties or on the quay.

“From January it was a madhouse with applications and information requests, so there is plenty of interest,” said sales manager Alex Hoeve.

“We have the same amount of square metres available as last year, and the challenge is to present a complete and varied line-up in them.

You notice that water sports are in full swing; we want to fill the available space as efficiently and logically as possible.”

He added: “In particular, by shifting between the segments here and there, we try to present a surprising fair, which is again slightly better than last year and slightly different. We expect to end up with a similar-sized offering as in 2024.”

Compared to last year, the number of registrations is clearly ahead.

Vessels of note due to be shown include the Pure 42 from Kiel, the Sweden 45, a 28-metre new Hoogaars from SRF and at least one Lemmeraken.

Blue Water sailing will be represented with aluminium builders including KM Yachtbuilders and Breehorn.

There will also be several multihulls alongside a large selection of smaller 26 to 40ft boats.

The luxury motor yacht segment is also growing with Grand Banks set to show its new line, together with a Riva Aquariva and Wajer with boats from the Captain’s Sloop to the Wajer 55.

In motorboats, the entry-level segment will be represented with models from Santos, Nautic Power and Boot Akkrum among others.

There will be a selecton of sloops and tenders with organisers currently running a waiting list. Craft on show will range from an outboard sloop to a longboat and the outboard segment will be represented with products from major outboard motor brands.

The activity pool has been made bigger and will have foiling water toys in action .

“We now have registrations from companies from China, Belgium, Turkey, Germany, the UK, France and Austria,” added Alex.

“Compared to last year, the number of registrations is clearly ahead.”

For exhibition director Arjen Rahusen, the high level of interest is confirmation that the Hiswa te Water is heading in the right direction.

Entrance facelift

“Last year we had over 30,000 visitors and we are aiming for that again this year.

“Dutch Build stands for quality and that is reflected at the Hiswa te Water. We bring a wide range that is tailored to the wishes of the modern consumer.”

He added: “The concept in which we create an atmosphere in which every exhibitor can create his or her own party is catching on well. We expect another vibrant fair next year. We are constantly working on that.”

Other changes to the show include a facelift to the entrance providing more room for cars or boats and an enlarged Hiswa Village to include a meeting point and a terrace.

Organisers have also made changes to the Boat of the Year awards with the Sloops and Tenders Award now the award for the most innovative Open Motorboat includeing RIBs and console boats.

A new segment has also been added – that of the Electro Boat of the Year.

The prizes will be awarded the evening before the Hiswa te Water show on September 2.

Hiswa te Water in the Bataviahaven will take place from 3 to 7 September 2025.
