First all-in-one battery factory opens

Lithium Battery Company has unveiled its new fully automated battery manufacturing facility in Tampa, Florida, described as a major milestone.

The facility is said to be a ‘groundbreaking achievement for US manufacturing’.

The new 83,000sqft facility represents a $4 million investment and the largest expansion in Lithium Battery Company’s history.

The company describes it as s a hub for high-tech job creation and a showcase for the future of clean energy manufacturing in the United States.

Over the next three years, 150 new high-tech jobs are planned to be created.

The facility includes five specialised, automated assembly lines designed to meet the diverse needs of modern energy storage — ranging from small electronics to utility-scale systems.

We are the first factory in the United States capable of producing any type of battery pack.

It is already engineered to accommodate next-generation sodium-ion technologies.

“We are the first factory in the United States capable of producing any type of battery pack – from compact solutions for specialised consumer electronics to massive commercial container energy storage systems, all under one roof,” said a spokesperson from The Lithium Battery Company.

The facility also includes a clean room environment for sensitive components, advanced testing and validation labs, climate-controlled storage, ESD-protected work areas, and quality control systems.

Battery lines support a wide range of markets including the marine industry.

United States manufacturing

The new expansion also brings back the company’s manufacturing to the United States.

“When we started looking at the whole equation, we estimated around 20% cost savings by not having the battery packs manufactured overseas,” said Nathan Staron, CEO and founder of Lithium Battery Company.

At the core of the shift is Reshore AI, the company’s proprietary platform that optimises logistics, reduces tariff exposure, and ensures cost predictability.

“With Reshore AI and our fully automated assembly lines, we’re helping US businesses cut costs, reduce lead times, and strengthen their supply chains, all while creating high-tech jobs in Tampa,” added Nathan.

Automated systems

The factory’s five specialised assembly lines include fully automated systems for prismatic and cylindrical cells, and semi-automated lines for custom and pilot runs.

Each line is equipped with robotic welding, real-time defect detection, and cleanroom-ready environments, with capacity for up to 2,000 battery packs per day.

The facility is also designed for rapid prototyping and is working towards achieving ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certification.
