Caymas selects Kicker marine audio

Caymas Boats has selected Kicker Marine Audio to supply sound systems for its freshwater boat range as the audio manufacturer expands into direct sales to original equipment manufacturers.

The agreement initially covers Caymas freshwater boats from 18ft to 22ft, including the DV Series.

Equipment packages will range from entry-level to premium, depending on boat size and customer or dealer preferences.

“Alex NeSmith and the team at Caymas made it easy for me to get my feet wet with Kicker in my new role,” said Will Cherry, Kicker’s new OEM marine sales manager.

“We are working first with Caymas’ fresh water line of boats from 18-22’ offering different levels of equipment from entry-level to premium, based on the boat size and customer or dealer preference.”

Sound quality

Caymas was founded in 2018 by Earl Bentz, whose background includes Mercury Marine’s racing programme and the establishment and sale of two other boat brands.

The manufacturer builds freshwater and saltwater boats, although the initial Kicker arrangement focuses on its freshwater line.

Ben Dorton, Caymas vice-president of sales and marketing, said sound quality and durability influenced the choice of supplier.

“Our customers expect the best,” he said, “and that includes the audio experience on the water.”

“We’re excited to offer a premium audio package that lets our owners enjoy their favorite music whether they’re fishing a tournament, cruising the lake, or just relaxing at the dock.”

Kicker has operated in mobile audio since 1973 and has supplied marine audio products for more than 20 years.

Its marine portfolio includes tower systems, coaxial speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers, receivers, head units and remotes.
