Groupe Beneteau has restructured its Boat division, organising it into three business segments: Sailing (monohulls and multihulls), Dayboating (motorboats from 20 to 40ft for day cruising) and Real Estate on the Water (motoryachts from 40 to 80ft).
The organisation has been carried out with the intention of enabling Groupe Beneteau to continue to pursue its transformation as a multi-specialist player in the boating industry.
The boat builder says the reorganisation will enable it to be as close as possible to the expectations of its customers and a rapidly evolving market.
Clément Himily has been appointed general manager of the Sailing business unit. Clément has more than 15 years’ experience in the industry. He joined Groupe Beneteau in 2017 and has worked to develop the Construction Navale Bordeaux site, of which he became general manager in 2020, against a backdrop of transformation and growth for the Lagoon and Excess brands.
He has previously held a number of operational management positions for food industry groups such as Mondelez International and Danone.
Yannick Madiot has been appointed general manager of the Dayboating business unit. Yannick has more than 25 years’ experience in a variety of international industrial environments.
He had previously held the position of vice president finance and administration for Beneteau USA for eight years from 2002.
In 2010, he returned to France to join the WEIR Group, where he was successively chief financial officer and then MD of the Safety Valves business.
Yannick has also held the position of operations director for North America within the Boat division of the Groupe Beneteau between 2019 and 2021.
Michelangelo Casadei has been appointed general manager of the Real Estate on the Water business unit.
He joins Groupe Beneteau after more than 20 years’ experience in the automotive and marine industries including leading the Finnish plant and operations of the Nautor Swan Group between 2021 and 2024.
Prior to this, he worked for the Ferretti Group between 2008 and 2021 as quality director and then as engineering director.
“I am delighted with the appointments of Clément Himily, Yannick Madiot and Michelangelo Casadei, and wish them every success in fulfilling their missions at the head of these new business units.
“This reorganisation of the Boat division will enable our Group to continue its transformation as a multi-specialist, and to remain as close as possible to the specific expectations of our customers in each segment,” said Gianguido Girotti, CEO Boat division, Groupe Beneteau.
