Garmin extends Force Kraken motor range

Garmin has expanded its Force Kraken trolling motor series with the addition of a 48in shaft length to accommodate smaller boat sizes, including pontoons, flats boats and microskiffs.

Features of the Kraken motor include a pivot-style mount for installation on boats where bow space is limited and a brushless motor which uses a high-efficiency propeller to produce 100 pounds of thrust on a 36-volt system or 80 pounds on a 24-volt system.

“The addition of another shaft length option to our award-winning Force trolling motor series reinforces our commitment to provide best-in-class trolling motors to all our customers,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of global consumer sales.

“From bass boats to bay boats, centre consoles to multispecies fishing boats, Force remains at the forefront of power and efficiency, and we’re pleased to expand our Kraken series with an additional 48in size that’s perfect for boats with a smaller freeboard.”

Additional features of the Kraken motor include wireless integration with Garmin chartplotters and smartwatches allowing anglers to create routes, patterns and tracks for the trolling motor to follow while they fish.

Easily install live sonar using Kraken’s LiveScope cable management system and the ability to stay on the fish with Kraken’s anchor lock.

A wireless remote gives anglers control of the Kraken trolling motor with virtual anchor lock, autopilot functionality, heading hold and point-and-go gesture steering.
