OXE Marine AB, through its distributor SARj, is supplying the Swedish Maritime Administration (Sjöfartsverket) with OXE300 outboard engines and rigging equipment.
The order is to power three vessels which are due to go into operation during the spring.
SARj has previously worked with government tenders in the Swedish and Finnish markets; this is the first official order in Sweden from a governmental customer.
“It feels great to provide a solution to them with several new benefits compared to traditional drivetrains,” said Andreas Cederqvist, co-owner of SARj.
“The OXE solution can truly save fuel economy by using all the benefits of an outboard engine.
Diesel engine
“Additionally, the benefits of a heavy-duty marine hydraulic gearbox are included, along with a well-proven diesel engine from one of the largest suppliers of automotive diesel engines.”
And he explained that OXE engines can run on HVO100, synthetic diesel that can be locally produced and reduce CO2 emissions by up to 92%.
Paul Frick, CEO of OXE Marine, added: “We are very pleased to collaborate with SARj on the order for the Swedish Maritime Administration.
“Our ongoing efforts to expand the diesel outboard market are gaining momentum, with growing interest in OXE Marine’s innovative technology from commercial and governmental users within the Swedish marine industry.”
