Swedish foiling boat manufacturer Candela has unveiled its P-12 Voyager, the flagship model of the boatbuilder’s P-12 platform.
The electric hydrofoil vessel is said to offer a new level of luxury at sea with ride comfort enabled by computers and software.
The P-12 Voyager will accommodate up to 12 passengers in a climate-controlled cabin featuring panoramic windows, lounge-style seating, a refreshment station, luggage compartments and a restroom.
Candela’s flight controller continuously adjusts the foils 100 times per second for a calm ride with reduced motion and vibration.
The vessel can operate at speeds of 25 knots while foiling with cabin noise levels of around 63dB and has a range of up to 40 nautical miles on battery power.
Public transport
The P-12 Voyager can recharge from 20% to 80% in around one hour using a standard dual 150kW CCS charging system and can be docked at both low jetties and high quays.
The P-12 Voyager complements Candela’s P-12 Shuttle which is in public transport service in Candela’s hometown of Stockholm and the P-12 Business.
“For decades, luxury at sea has primarily been about interior design and onboard amenities,” said Gabriele De Mattia, senior product manager at Candela.
“With the P-12 Voyager, we’ve engineered luxury into the ride itself. The technology eliminates the discomforts traditionally associated with high-speed water transport.”
The P-12 Voyager is engineered in Sweden and is in serial production at Candela’s Stockholm based factory with customer deliveries starting later in 2026.
