Alewijnse opens new Vietnam office

Alewijnse has opened a new Vietnam office. The new office is located in HaiPhong and at 408m2, is four times larger than the previous workplace, allowing all the company’s office staff to be based in one place.

The move will also allow Alewijnse Vietnam to cater to a growing demand for electrical system integration services in South-East Asia’s maritime sector.

The company believes Vietnam will experience the fastest economic growth in the region over the next decade.

This will bring opportunities for electrical system integration on board a variety of boats.

Alewijnse and its partner Heijco have signed a letter of intent to develop a joint training centre for specialised electricians.

“We seek to create room for further growth, especially in the field of engineering, one of Alewijnse Vietnam’s core competencies,” explained Daniel Pop, director of Alewijnse Vietnam.

“Our team is involved in many new maritime projects, both locally and internationally, and we aim to expand our services remotely to European projects.

“This will reinforce Alewijnse’s position as a fully deployable and innovative system integrator.”

In addition to the new office building, Alewijnse Vietnam has upgraded its existing panel building site, increasing its floor space up to 1,000m2 and also its warehouse.

The upgrade provides room for wheelhouse consoles, a new CNC machine and warehouse facilities.

“I am confident that keeping our production facilities at the current location is the best option,” concluded Daniel. “We have been working here since our start in 2008 with our partner Heijco, which allows us to quickly scale up with electrically trained personnel.”

The new location is part of a wider network of marine businesses including Damen Song Cam, Halong Shipyard and Shipyard 189.
