Bowen Marina acquired

A Queensland, Australia, marina is to get a new lease of life after being acquired by development company Alder Developments.

Bowen Marina consists of two main buildings and 22 berths for vessels from 10m to 20m requiring medium and long-term berthing.

Alder Developments’ general manager, Greg Tupicoff, says the acquisition of Bowen Marina further cements the company’s commitment to investing in the Whitsunday region.

“The Bowen Marina is regarded as one of the safest ports in Queensland located in a prime vantage point on the fringe of one of the largest and best-known coral reefs in the world, the Great Barrier Reef,” he said.

“With the transition to the new ownership we plan to utilise the experience of our Alder Development team to rejuvenate the marina while investigating the future potential of the facility in consultation with local Government, State Government and the community.”

The development company is now seeking prospective tenants from marine-based enterprises through to marine tourism.
