Maltese businessman Dmitry Vasiliev has acquired a stake in Bering Yachts, joining the company as a partner, with his investment set to aid Bering’s overall financial health and stability.
Vasiliev joins the shipyard with a strong engineering and business background, bringing more than 30 years of senior executive and partner-level experience in leading technology companies.
In addition, he previously founded and served as chairman of the board of a builder of high-speed composite motor yachts.
Within Bering Yachts, Vasiliev will focus on optimising production and business processes, with a mandate to strengthen the company’s operational reliability, raise manufacturing quality standards, and further solidify Bering’s position in the explorer yacht segment.
Strategic collaborations
In parallel, he will oversee strategic collaborations within the Superyacht Division, focusing on projects of 50 metres and above.
Bering Yachts says it expects to announce its first major collaboration in this segment in the near future — a partnership that is set to elevate the company’s product offering to a ‘new qualitative level’.
“We are delighted to welcome Dmitry as a shareholder and partner,” said Alexei Mikhailov, founder and CEO of Bering Yachts.
“His combination of technical expertise, shipbuilding experience, and deep knowledge of business optimisation will play an important role in the next stage of our development.”
Bering Yachts specialises in custom, steel-hulled expedition yachts and luxury trawler yachts from 65ft to 265ft, together with aluminium catamarans.
