ACUA Ocean has promoted Oli Mulcahy MBE to the role of chief technology officer to lead ACUA’s design, engineering and technology strategy.
Oli joined ACUA as head of engineering in September 2023 after a technical career.
He will be supported by Alex Liddle who joined ACUA from Babcock in January as senior naval architect, working alongside senior robotics engineer Charles Anuyagu (formerly Mercedes F1) who leads systems integration.
The ACUA team has also recently welcomed hydrogen engineer Ben Nicholson, mechanical engineer Ben Shelbourn, naval architect Tom Nicholls and Imperial College Masters students Nuria Marti-Brosse and George Alexander who have joined on six month placements.

As the ACUA HUSV transitions into its sea trials and evaluation phase in Q3, the waterfront team in Plymouth, UK, will be led by head of marine operations, John Hunnibell (formerly DE&S maritime autonomy lead) and sea trials engineer Nigel Mashembo, who joins the company from Thales.
