New Shanghai distribution hub for Shakespeare Marine

Antenna manufacturer Shakespeare Marine is to open a new distribution hub in Shanghai, China.

The new hub will be operational from 1 January 2024, and means the manufacturer has now secured warehouse space across Europe, America and Asia.

The latest hub will allow the company to further support sales in its Asia and Australasia markets and cost savings, with reduced transportation and delivery times for customers.

Orders from the new warehouse will have an estimated transit time of two to three weeks –compared to the usual eight-to-ten-week turnaround when ordering from Europe or the US.

Best-selling

The warehouse will initially stock an inventory of its best-selling product lines, from VHF, AIS, HDTV marine antennas and the brand’s QuickConnect range, to heavy-duty stainless-steel mounts including Shakespeare’s 5912-DORSAL VHF antenna, V-Tronix Fibreglass VHF antenna and Classic AIS antenna, with plans to expand the range in the future.

“The launch of our new Chinese distribution hub marks a pivotal point of growth for the brand,” said Dave Manasseh, Shakespeare Marine European sales manager. “We are confident this new milestone will provide improved logistics, faster delivery times and cost-savings for the region, in response to the success we’ve seen across the Asia and Australasian markets.”

The announcement follows the appointment of a new Indian distributor, Benson Marine.

Effective immediately, Benson Marine becomes the first Indian distributor for Shakespeare Marine, initially taking stock of a range of light commercial VHF antennas and mounts with plans to develop the offering over the coming months.
