New marine electrification system MOU

VoltSafe is partnering with Mostar Labs to co-develop a new marine charging infrastructure system.

The two companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop ‘intelligent systems’ for the next generation of electric boats.

The partnership will combine VoltSafe’s patented prongless, magnetic connectors with Mostar’s Adaptive Power Management System (APMS) to build modular, grid-aware, and mobile charging stations.

Both companies will jointly pursue critical certifications across marine, defence, and clean-tech standards, including UL, IEC, CSA, and NATO STANAG in order to aid adoption of the system.

The partnership also includes a path to commercialisation through potential licensing agreements, OEM integrations, and co-branded solutions tailored for both domestic and international markets.

This collaboration is a game-changer.

“This MOU sets out the framework for a strategic partnership to design and deliver revolutionary dual-use mobile charging infrastructure that meets the growing energy needs of electric boats, advanced marine systems, and novel defence solutions,” said Trevor Burgess, VoltSafe’s co-founder and CEO.

“Partnerships like this allow VoltSafe to scale its technology faster and expand into high-value verticals like defence.”

Meiz Majdoub, CEO of Mostar Labs, added: “At Mostar Labs, we believe that the future of marine and defence electrification lies in intelligent, mobile infrastructure that adapts in real-time.

Power management

“Partnering with VoltSafe allows us to combine our dynamic power management with their groundbreaking connector and power management technology, setting the stage for safer, cleaner, and more resilient energy delivery on water.

“This collaboration is a game-changer for how we build and power the next generation of electric marine systems.”

VoltSafe is a Canadian tech startup that has has developed a new electrical plug that eliminates prongs, adding magnets and an ‘electrical fingerprint’.

The company’s product pipeline includes solutions for residential, commercial, industrial, marine, electric and autonomous vehicles, emergency services, data centres and more.

Mostar Labs is based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and develops sustainable innovations in marine technology.
