Buoycatcher was formed in the summer of 2020 during Covid to develop a range of boat hook and mooring related products that were a level above the mass-produced offerings seen every chandlery store around the globe.
As anchoring has become less popular due to seagrass protection and many boat owners preferring other alternative mooring options, we have seen a huge increase in visitor and residential mooring with the use of buoys which vary massively in shape and design from those with pick up buoys to shackles and iron hoops on the top, there are also many eco buoys being installed in seagrass protection areas.
Picking up a mooring and securing to a buoy is not always the easiest of operations and can be affected by such things as wind, strong tide and high freeboard designs on hulls so our mission was to create a Buoy Catcher/Rope |Feeder that would make it easy to secure your boats mooring lines through a range of different mooring buoys without the need to tie knots and lean overboard.
This led to the development and manufacture of our market leading Buoycatcher-Max model rope feeder that leads the way in securing mooring lines to a number of different challenges like buoys, shackles, hoops, rings, rungs, chains and even dockside cleats.
Off the back of the success of this mooring tool we have continued to develop a range of market leading products under the Buoycatcher brand, these include a choice of telescopic poles to suit your boating style and needs and we have both a compact and long reach version to choose from.
These poles all have a factory fitted 316 marine grade stainless steel female threaded insert allowing for the interchanging of accessories from out fast-growing range.
We have traditional boat hook ends, everyday use boat hook ends, boat hook attachments for pick up buoys, adapters for fitting of brush heads and even a magnet for retrieving items dropped in the marina.
Many of our products are manufactured in England using both recycled plastics and 316 marine grade stainless steel.
Our range of Buoycatcher boat hooks will compliment your mooring whether you have an ocean-going yacht, power vessel, sports boat, Catamaran, day boat, river cruiser or narrow boat.
Our unique 3-section, extendable boat hook poles, boast a market-leading extended reach of over 3.3 metres (11ft) giving you the freedom of picking up your mooring from the bow, midships or bathing platform removing the need to lean dangerously overboard.
Our Buoy Catcher heads are designed to automatically feed your mooring lines directly through top rings & shackles of mooring buoys, dockside rings, harbour wall ladder rungs & even most cleats & return them safely back onboard without the need to tie knots or use a painter.
