E-Dolphin has announced the launch of its S300, electric watercraft.
The craft is the result of seven years of research and development by the French company and its founder Nicolas Flores, and incorporates a patented drive train with a central engine for efficiency, performance, and durability.
Nicolas founded E-Dolphin with the aim of revolutionising the watercraft industry helping it to transition to a zero-emission, eco-friendly practice.
The company began by designing a new powertrain which included custom batteries, a bespoke system, and specialised engines.
Over the course of a couple of years, several prototypes were built, each with different types of batteries, drive systems, and engines with the first patented E-Dolphin powertrain developed, tested and validated in 2020.
“E-Dolphin’s mission is to provide next generation watercraft that cares about nature and ocean protection,” said Nicolas. “We have the responsibility to use new technologies in order to create everything possible to rectify the impact of our activities on the water.”
The company has now paired its powertrain with a custom-designed carbon fibre hull, designed to maximise the benefits of the electric system.
The S300 features a 160hp motor and has a top speed of 90km/h (50 knots).
Ultra-fast charging technology enables a full charge in 30 minutes with a maximum power of 70kW which provides up to two hours of ride time.
With one rider and full power use, the sports-pack allows for around one hour of riding.
Standard charging takes eight hours using 220V power.
Deliveries are due to start in Europe in Q3 2025.
