Netherlands based Van der Valk shipyard has opened its new production hall. The latest expansion of Hall 7 brings the total yard premises to over 9000sqm, with direct access to the water via 120m of dock.
The new Hall has been designed to provide a state-of-the-art platform for the shipyard’s craftsmen to ply their trades.
It has large 12 x 12m hangar doors which open up to reveal 2,540sqm of space and the latest equipment required for bespoke superyachts.
The extension also means Van der Valk can now work simultaneously on two more projects up to 47m in length.
“Van der Valk’s growth is strongly driven by clients,” explained technical director Bram Kooltjes.
“As well as providing an optimum build experience and outcome for owners, this new facility is helping us attract talented people from across the boatbuilding spectrum.

“If you have what it takes to make an impact in the superyacht sector, this is the right environment in which to do so.”
The new hall is the latest expansion for the shipyard which had three halls capable of building six projects under 20m in 2000.
In 2017, Van der Valk opened its sixth facility which was a 14m high hall that enabled larger yachts to be built in their entirety rather than having hulls and superstructures constructed in separate halls prior to their joining.
“As new orders continued to increase, Hall 7 was designed with the future in mind,” added Bram.
Van der Valk has a 100-strong workforce and specialises in building complete aluminium hulls, including piping, plumbing, mechanical engineering and outfitting.
The yard is able to create custom superyachts up to 47 metres with projects currently in build including Samba, EVO and Jangada.
The shipyard was founded in 1967. In April 2024, Van der Valk began construction of Project EVO, its largest yacht to date in terms of length and volume.
