Organisers confirm BoatLife cancellation

Organisers have confirmed that BoatLife 2025 has been cancelled.

The show was scheduled to take place from 6 to 9 February 2025 at Birmingham’s NEC.

“We apologise for any disappointment this news may bring to exhibitors, attendees, and partners,” said the organisers in a statement.

“All exhibitors and attendees are being contacted by Pendigo Events with respect to refunds.

“Pendigo Events and the NEC Group thank all those that were due to attend for their interest and support of BoatLife 2025 and look forward to welcoming them to another show soon.”

The event was founded by Richard Dove three years’ ago and was acquired by the NEC Group’s newly established event division, Pendigo Events earlier in 2024.

Expansion

At the time it was stated that the investment from the NEC Group would propel BoatLife into a new phase of expansion, marking a significant development for the show.

The show was the first exhibition in the Pendigo Events portfolio, headed by MD Anthony Mitchell.

He was said to have brought together a team of industry specialists who would develop an exciting future for BoatLife and the NEC Group’s broader events strategy.

The show was set to be the first of 2025 for the leisure marine industry.

It was due to have dedicated zones for different aspects of the market including angling and inland waterways.

Plans had included a purpose-built canal with a plethora of companies exhibiting alongside showcasing products for inland waterways.

A beach and pool area were also planned for water activities and sports.

Organisers had also switched halls to make the event closer to the main NEC entrance.

The 2024 edition was said to have seen the same number of visitors as in 2023 with an increased number of boats on display.
