Pôle Refit & Commissioning is expanding into a new purpose-built 6,000sqm facility in the south of France.
The new facility – an investment of 2 million euros – is near Perpignan on the western part of the French Mediterranean coast, will be able to receive boats up to 30m in length or 85 tonnes when it opens in September 2024.
Services offered will include anything from a complete refit to repairs or upgrades together with the commissioning of new boats.
“We’re ideally situated between Barcelona and Marseille and will be able to offer the full range of services including fiberglass and composite work, stainless steel fabrication, joinery, painting, covers and upholstery, teak decks, sails and rigging, electronic and electrical installations, engine installation and maintenance,” explained sales manager Mark Day.
“We are also able to offer a range of services to owners, skippers and crew.”
The new facility is being built to cater to the demand for services as the area sees a growth in yachting.
“We’re seeing a large increase in boat owners wanting to upgrade their yachts,” said Mark.
“We are taking on a lot of refit projects – we’re finding owners are looking for a yacht that is more robust than some of the modern models.
