New electric steer trolling motor from Navico

Navico Group has launched a new electric steer trolling motor, Recon, developed for both fresh and saltwater anglers.

The motor features a newly developed joystick remote and GPS positioning.

The motor has been launched under Navico’s Lowrance and Simrad brands.

“Not only are we introducing the next generation of trolling motors but we’re also offering a version for saltwater anglers for the first time,” explained Jeremiah Clark, VP and general manager, Fishing Systems at Navico Group. “Recon is all about control – of your boat, your position and your catch.

“Between the premium power and GPS and unique joystick remote, Recon takes care of all the heavy lifting so anglers can focus on the fish.”

Other features include Freesteer, a lightweight, wearable joystick remote which provides 360-degree steering and a wireless foot pedal with programmable keypad and display integration via NMEA 2000.

The FreeSteer remote provides positional control and the ability to execute diagonal jogs in eight directions.

Anglers also have the option to move anchor positions freely, in almost any direction, without having to re-anchor the boat.

The motor has brushless technology combined with a weedless prop and integrated sonar technology for high-resolution pictures.

The freshwater version is available in 48, 54, 60 and 72in shaft lengths, while the saltwater version is available in 54, 60, and 72in shaft lengths.
