Dockmate agrees Marex MPC integration

Dockmate has signed agreements with Aventics GmbH, part of Emerson Automation Solutions, to develop an interface between its wireless yacht remote controls and the Aventics Marex MPC propulsion control system.

The technical framework also covers MAN-branded controls and will allow the two systems to communicate through a CAN-bus interface.

Dockmate has gained access to relevant Aventics communication documentation under a protocol licence agreement, while a development release agreement records the proposed connection between Dockmate equipment and the Marex MPC ship control system.

The agreements support development work rather than announcing a commercially available product.

The company already supplies wireless controls intended to let operators manage engines and manoeuvring equipment away from the fixed helm, improving visibility during low-speed docking.

“Working with an established marine technology company such as Emerson and MAN is an important milestone for Dockmate,” said Marc Curreri, chief executive of Dockmate US.

“This agreement reflects our commitment to developing professional, technically robust integration solutions that give vessel owners greater flexibility and confidence when manoeuvring their boats.”
