Swanwick showcase confirms 2027 return

The Swanwick Yachting Showcase will return in 2027 after participating brokers reported sales of new and pre-owned boats during its nine-day 2026 debut.

The UK event used pre-arranged appointments at Swanwick Marina, allowing prospective buyers to inspect sail, power and catamaran models and speak directly with sales teams.

More than 50 yachts were shown by Ancasta, Clipper Marine, MiCats, Sea Ventures, Sunseeker and Universal Yachting.

Brands included Bavaria, Beneteau, Dufour, Jeanneau and Fountaine Pajot, alongside brokerage boats. Six sailing yachts made UK show debuts, the Rhéa 23 Origine had its UK premiere and selected boats were available for sea trials.

Active prospects

Ancasta says about 70% of its visitors had booked in advance, indicating a high proportion of active prospects.

“People visited because they were genuinely interested in buying a boat, which allowed us to spend meaningful time onboard with them, understand what they were looking for and answer their questions in depth,” said Stuart Brotherton, sales director at Ancasta.

Universal Yachting reported two boat sales and further opportunities. The company’s Chris Warwick said the format allowed buyers to compare models and discuss requirements in greater depth.

In addition, he said the UK premiere of the Rhéa 23 Origine had attracted significant interest.

Vicky Farrow, managing director of Sea Ventures, said buyers valued being able to examine both new and used boats and reported a steady flow of people who were there to buy a boat.

Planning for the 2027 showcase is under way, with dates and further details yet to be announced. Organisers said the decision to repeat the event reflected both buyer feedback and the commercial results reported by dealers.
