Mirazur Capital and Barcelona’s Marina Port Vell have added Biras Marina in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, to their developing international marina network.
Biras Marina forms part of Biras Creek Resort in North Sound, Virgin Gorda. It has 25 berths for yachts up to 70 metres and 20 mooring buoys, serving short- and long-term stays.
The site provides water and electricity, internet access, boat cleaning and catering for owners and crews. The wider resort includes villas, restaurants, a multi-brand boutique and a helipad.
The deal follows Mirazur Capital’s acquisition of a majority stake in Marina Port Vell and its stated plan to build a network in strategically located yachting destinations. Biras is the first addition to take the Barcelona marina’s operating model beyond the Mediterranean.
“Our aim is to bring a proven operational model to Biras Marina, one capable of enhancing the experience of owners, skippers and crews and raising operational and service standards in the Caribbean,” said Ignacio Erroz, managing director of Marina Port Vell.
Marcos Pellejero Ibáñez, managing partner at Mirazur Capital, added: “The addition of Biras Marina to our portfolio represents a major step forward in our growth strategy and creates a highly valuable strategic link between Barcelona and the Caribbean.”
