Sunreef Yachts has unveiled its electric catamaran Ipharra, the first sailing Sunreef 100 Eco, at the Monaco Yacht Show.
The catamaran has been delivered to a returning owner and extends the Polish builder’s Eco range into its 100ft sailing platform.
More than 250sqms of Sunreef’s Solar Skin is integrated into the hull and superstructure, with a claimed peak generation of 49kWp. Power is stored in a 770kWh battery bank that supplies the hotel loads and twin electric propulsion motors.
A carbon mast supports the sail plan, with the yacht designed to achieve 8 to 10 knots in winds of 15 to 20 knots, with electric propulsion available when required.
The accommodation includes an owner’s suite forward on the main deck and five further guest cabins. Four en suite cabins in the hulls can be arranged as doubles or twins, while a single cabin beside the owner’s suite provides additional flexibility.
The main saloon includes a ten-person dining table, coffee bar and retractable projector screen.
Exceptional sailing
At the stern, a powered platform can carry tenders and water toys. When lowered, it links the two hulls close to water level and connects with fold-down side terraces to form the beach club. Ipharra’s garage is configured for two sailing dinghies.
Other exterior spaces include a sheltered cockpit dining area, flybridge and private foredeck terrace accessed from the owner’s suite. The interior uses oak cabinetry, dark-stained oak flooring, light upholstery and indirect lighting.
Sunreef founder and chief executive Francis Lapp explained that the yacht is ‘designed not only for exceptional sailing but also as a platform for education’. And he said Ipharra embodies a mission that transcends the traditional role of a yacht.
The new boat succeeds the Sunreef 102 Double Deck of the same name launched in 2010. Sunreef has not disclosed the project’s price, range under electric propulsion or charging times.
