HanseYachts appoints Americas general manager

HanseYachts has appointed Marian Scheer as general manager of Hanse US, with responsibility for the group’s brands across North and South America.

Scheer returns to HanseYachts after beginning his career with the German yacht builder, where he gained early experience in the sailing yacht business before moving into senior roles across international marine and yacht markets.

Following a later move to the United States and wider international career, he now returns to the company in a regional leadership role intended to strengthen links between the German headquarters, dealers, partners and customers across the Americas.

The appointment forms part of a management change in the region. Doug Brophy, who has served as general manager for North and South America, will step down from operational management and focus on his activities as a Fjord Boats dealer.

Dealer activity

HanseYachts thanked Brophy for his work developing the business across the Americas and said he would remain connected to the Fjord brand through his dealer activity.

Isabella Szumowski will remain part of the Hanse US management team, continuing to support the business and dealer network in North and South America. The company said her market experience and established relationships would remain important to the regional organisation.

Maxim Neumann, chief sales officer of HanseYachts, said the company was pleased to welcome Scheer back to the business.

“Marian learned the business at Hanse and knows our company and our brands from his own experience,” he said.

“At the same time, he brings many years of international experience and understands both the European and American markets.”
