The Zparq Z10 electric outboard motor will make its UK debut at the Southampton International Boat Show 2026, ahead of UK availability from early 2027 through Electric Outboard.
Developed in Sweden, the Z10 is described as the world’s lightest 10kW electric outboard. The motor weighs 15.2kg (short shaft model), excluding its mounting bracket, and uses a slim direct-drive motor pod supported by Zparq’s patented Hyperflow Cooling system.
Rather than relying on heavier and more complex cooling arrangements, Hyperflow Cooling uses surrounding water to help cool the motor.
Zparq says the approach allows a compact design with fewer moving parts, while supporting higher performance and reduced maintenance.
“The introduction of the Z10 to the market represents a step change in the continuing development of electric propulsion systems,” said Algie Bennett, founder and owner of Electric Outboard.
“The Hyperflow Cooling is hugely innovative. We’ve seen increasing interest from customers wanting an electric outboard motor that can pack a punch in a lightweight, compact package.”
Portability
He added that portability is a central part of the design, extending beyond the motor itself to the battery arrangement.
“Portability is absolutely key, and it’s not just the Z10 motor that ticks the box. The lightweight batteries consist of two battery packs and their ergonomic design makes them incredibly easy to hold and carry in case charging isn’t available at the dock.”
Other features include built-in electric tilt and trim, a mobile app with smart functions and the ability to combine multiple battery packs to extend range.
The motor will be displayed on the Electric Outboard stand L122 at Southampton International Boat Show.
