Correct Craft board chair and former president and chief executive Bill Yeargin has been named as the 2026 inductee into the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Hall of Fame.
Yeargin joined Correct Craft as president and chief executive in 2006, during a difficult period for the company.
Over the following 20 years, he led its development from a single boat manufacturer into a group operating across boats, engines, watersports, technology and other marine-related sectors.
During his tenure, Correct Craft expanded its US manufacturing base, increased its international presence to more than 70 countries and added several brands and businesses.
The company also invested in product development, manufacturing and its dealer and customer networks.
Leadership development
Yeargin promoted the company’s ‘Making Life Better’ programme, which is intended to guide its approach to employees, customers, communities and business decisions.
He also made leadership development a priority, supporting training, continuous learning and opportunities for employees to take on wider responsibilities.
“Bill understood that lasting success is built by investing in people, staying true to our values and having the courage to pursue a bigger vision,” said Correct Craft chief executive officer Zach Hutcheson.
“His leadership helped shape the company Correct Craft is today, and his impact will continue to guide us for years to come.”
US manufacturing
Yeargin also held leadership and advisory positions beyond Correct Craft. These included serving as chair of the NMMA board of directors and representing US manufacturing through advisory roles under several presidential administrations. His work included industry advocacy and support for the wider recreational boating sector.
In April 2026, Yeargin moved from president and chief executive to chair of Correct Craft’s board of directors, continuing his involvement with the business.
The NMMA Hall of Fame is the association’s highest honour and recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to the recreational boating industry.
Yeargin will formally receive the 2026 award at the IBEX Industry Breakfast in Tampa, Florida, on 6 October.
