Azimut|Benetti launches M/Y Lumina and announces €100 million investment programme

The Azimut|Benetti Group has launched the 44 metre M/Y Lumina, the latest unit in the Benetti Class 44M series, as it announces a €100 million investment programme.

Delivery of the four deck superyacht, designed by Cassetta Yacht Designers is scheduled for summer 2026.

For Benetti, the launch confirms the role of the Tuscan and Viareggio district within the Group’s development plans for its superyacht division.

Over the past five years, production value has doubled for the Azimut|Benetti Group, rising from €758 million in 2020 to €1.56 billion in 2025.

Tuscany remains the operational core of the Azimut|Benetti Group’s superyacht division, with 14 industrial sites across the region – located in Viareggio, Livorno, Massa and Pisa – generating 70% of the Group’s global results.

Expanding production capacity

Following €77 million already invested in Tuscany over the past three years, the Group plans to invest a further €100 million for the 2026–2028 period.

This new investment cycle aims not only to expand production capacity and enhance safety, but also to consolidate the engineering and technological know-how that defines the brand’s identity.

Key initiatives will include expanding production capacity with enlargement of sheds, introduction of new travel lifts, and strengthening of production and safety systems.

In addition, the Group will carry out energy efficiency upgrades and the installation of photovoltaic systems.

Investing in new models

Executive offices and client reception areas will be redesigned and refurbished and the Group will also strengthen its Lusben Refit operations, enhance facilities and production capabilities dedicated to refit activities.

The Group will continue to invest in new yacht models, materials and technologies.

As part of its investment programme Azimut|Benetti says it will continue to invest in its workforce.

Between 2020 and 2026, the Group’s workforce in Tuscany has nearly doubled, with the number of direct employees growing from 442 to 607 over the past five years.

The shipyard’s supply chain has also expanded with more than 1,000 companies working alongside the Group’s workforce and 3,800 daily presences at the Tuscan sites.
