Astilleros de Mallorca has formed a partnership with VMG Astilleros de Sagunto, taking a step forward in its growth strategy with the establishment of a new key operational hub on mainland Spain.
The new hub at the facilities of VMG Astilleros de Sagunto, in Valencia will provide Astilleros de Mallorca with an operating base to expand its operational capability and deliver refit and maintenance solutions with greater flexibility.
“This collaboration is not simply a geographical expansion, but part of a clear vision: to be present where the industry requires us, maintaining the same technical standards, operational capability and commitment that define Astilleros de Mallorca,” said a spokesperson from the yard.
“This agreement strengthens our ability to deliver refit and maintenance solutions with greater flexibility, optimising timelines and bringing us even closer to owners, captains and management companies seeking a reliable technical partner.”
Complementing current capabilities
The additional hub will complement the current capabilities of Astilleros de Mallorca, which consists of its main shipyard and STP facilities in Palma, with a haul out capacity of 1,600 ton and berths for yachts of up to 120m together with offices and workshops in mainland Spain, at Marina Port Tarraco and IGY Malaga Marina.
From the new location, Astilleros de Mallorca will be able to utilise 76,800sqm of operational area, a 5,000 ton shiplift, 50 ton and 300 ton travel lifts and 10 ton and 2 ton gantry cranes together with offices and a specialised workshop.
VMG provides reconditioning and repairing services to superyachts of up to 300 tons of displacement or approximately 45 meters in overall length.
The yard is located in the historic Puerto de Sagunto, close to Valencia international airport.
