New Gozzo 42 from Apreamare

Apreamare has introduced its new Gozzo 42, a joint development effort by Cataldo Aprea, Marco Casali (Too Design) and Umberto Tagliavini (Marine Design) for naval architecture in collaboration with the shipyard’s technical office.

Features of the new craft include a redesigned hull, deckhouse and windows and a hardtop that is designed to be fitted with an optional glass windscreen.

The helm station also has a more sculpted design, with a more ergonomic layout and optional air conditioning.

During the design process, attention was also given to technical and functional aspects including new air inlets integrated into the hull to improve cooling in the engine room, which also has a large electrically operated door to facilitate access for maintenance.

Cockpit features

A technical compartment in the stern houses the mooring gear.

The cockpit features a large 2 metre-long sunpad in the stern, positioned next to a C-shaped sofa that can seat up to eight people.

A second area for socialising in the bow features a sunpad and facing sofas. Both the cockpit and the sunpad in the bow can be shaded by awnings attached to the T-Top structure and supported by carbon fibre poles.

The wet bar is customised to suit the owner’s preferences and can be fitted with two 85-litre refrigerators, an ice maker and a barbecue, grill or induction hobs, as well as a compartment for tableware.

Completing the outdoor experience is the almost 6sqm stern platform featuring a retractable swim ladder and a tender lift system.

36 knots top speed

The interiors are designed to offer comfort and bright spaces. The master cabin is part of an open-plan layout but can be separated from the living area by a door.

The cabin is also fitted with two large full-height wardrobes and storage compartments.

An optional second separate cabin is in the stern with two beds and storage units.

The variable-geometry hull with skegs is designed for either a conventional in-line shaft drive or a Volvo Penta IPS system.

The boat can be powered by two Volvo Penta D6 engines with shaft drives – 380hp or 480hp – or by two Volvo Penta IPS units – 500hp or 600hp – for top speeds of between 27 and 36 knots and cruising speeds of between 22 and 27 knots.

The fuel tank can hold 1,200 litres.

Apreamare’s new Gozzo 42 has an overall length of 12.8 metres and a maximum beam of 4.2 metres and can accommodate up to 14 people.
