Biras Marina & Resort has opened in the Caribbean in Virgin Gorda, one of the most iconic British Virgin Islands bays.
This project – which is only accessible by yacht or helicopter – is the result of the vision of Biras Marina & Resort owners who are revitalising the property following significant hurrican damage in 2017.
“Our Marina represents a strategic hub in the Caribbean, being the only marina in the region specifically designed for superyachts, combining modern infrastructure and excellent services,” explained Guillermo Houwer, Biras Marina & Resort’s owner.
“With one well-established Japanese-Caribbean Omakase restaurant – Ikigai, a new vibrant Mediterranean open-air restaurant – The Mangrove – and state-of-the-art facilities available to boaters and visitors, the marina represents a significant step in our resort growth plan, while offering a high-quality experience, relaxation, and the opportunity to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the BVI.”
Long and short-term stays
The marina is the first step in the development of the resort that includes a limited collection of private villas, a farm, fine dining, high-end multi-brand boutique, a rooftop lounge, private events space, a gourmet bistro and bespoke yachting services.
Biras Marina includes opportunities for long and short-term stays designed to accommodate yachts over 150ft with a draft of up to 20ft.
In addition to the docks, there are also 20 mooring buoys available for yachts up to 60ft in length.
The marina offers a full range of services, including water, electricity, internet, boat cleaning, a café/bakery and a shuttle service to Gun Creek.
Biras Marina will soon be complemented by a provisions store.
