Michael Wilson has joined Topsail Marine & Leisure Insurance as senior marine trade account executive.
In his new role, he will support marine trade businesses across the UK with their insurance requirments from his base in Cornwall.
He joins Topsail with a background in both insurance and sailing – his family has always sailed and Michael himself first learnt to sail at the age of six. He has also followed in his father’s footsteps as an insurance broker.
“My father was an insurance broker for 40 years and I spent my school holidays helping in his office, doing everything from filing to admin, claims and generally helping out to earn some pocket money,” said Michael.
“After taking a year out delivering boats around Europe, I joined the business full time after university and began working through my Chartered Insurance Institute exams. More than 20 years later I’m still in the industry and still enjoying it.”
