British marine engineering company Caudwell Marine has opened a test and development centre in Dubai.
The new facility at Port Rashid has been set up to strengthen Caudwell Marine’s international testing presence and will operate in parallel with its UK test and development base, and its growing global partner testing programme.
Caudwell Marine is developing a diesel outboard propulsion system – the AX300 – and the new Dubai facility will enable the company to carry out extended, real-world validation of the outboard in extreme heat and demanding operating conditions.
The location was chosen to provide access to sustained high temperatures, salinity and operational profiles that are difficult to replicate elsewhere.
Six full-time personnel are employed at the centre.
The AX300 is a 300hp, V6 turbocharged diesel motor, due to launch in 2026.
