Dutch entrepreneur Hans Kortlevers has acquired Netherlands based Jongert Yachts, known for its custom and semi-custom yachts.
The acquisition marks a new chapter and a bold new vision for the brand, said Kortlevers.
The new ownership will concentrate on two flagship projects – a 55-metre | 500 GT flagship yacht and a 500 FT motor catamaran.
The 55-metre yacht will be a statement of confidence, scale, and refinement, explained Kortlevers, with the yacht designed to embody Jongert’s heritage of craftsmanship while introducing a contemporary design language.
Our ambition is clear: to build future-ready superyachts that combine intelligent engineering, timeless design, and a deep connection to the sea.

The flagship yacht will represent the pinnacle of elegance, performance, and comfort.
And the 500 GT motor catamaran will redefine space, efficiency, and long-range capability, says Kortlevers.
“With exceptional volume, stability, and innovative layout possibilities, this concept signals a new direction for owners seeking freedom without compromise,” he said.
“Together, these projects reflect our commitment to pushing boundaries while respecting the values that have defined Jongert for decades.”
Technically advanced yachts
He continued: “Our ambition is clear: to build future-ready superyachts that combine intelligent engineering, timeless design, and a deep connection to the sea.”
And Kortlevers provided an insight into the future when he concluded: “This is not just an acquisition. It is a statement of intent.”
Jongert was founded in 1953, initially building small motorboats before moving into boats that were more technically advanced.
Leading architects and designers
Over the years the yard has launched more than 325 custom and semi-custom sailing and motoryachts, built mainly in steel or aluminium.
Over the years, the yard has worked with leading architects and designers including Doug Peterson, Tony Castro and André Hoek alongside its own design team.
The 39-metre Smooth Operator was the yard’s largest yacht, built in 2010.
Alongside new builds, the yard carries out servicing and refits.
