First all-electric model from Archipelago Yachts

British shipyard Archipelago Yachts has launched the first fully electric model in its range.

The All-Electric Archipelago 40 was introduced at boot Düsseldorf 2026, based on the Archipelago 40 which has been re-engineered to accommodate a high-capacity battery system and electric drivetrain.

The vessel is powered by an integrated ePropulsion electric propulsion system, featuring twin 250kW low-speed electric motors.

Energy is stored in approximately 600kWh of installed battery capacity, supporting both propulsion and hotel loads.

To further enhance energy independence, the All-Electric Archipelago 40 is equipped with an 8kW solar array, integrated across the roof, side decks, and topsides.

The All-Electric Archipelago 40 represents a pivotal moment for our company and for the wider expedition yacht market.

“The All-Electric Archipelago 40 represents a pivotal moment for our company and for the wider expedition yacht market,” explained Dr Stephen Weatherley, CEO of Archipelago Yachts.

“Rather than compromise capability, we have taken everything that makes the Archipelago 40 so respected and re-engineered it for a zero-emissions future.

“By partnering with ePropulsion and designing the boat to be ready for future methanol range extension, we are giving owners a genuinely future-proof vessel that is efficient, powerful, and responsible.”

The vessel delivers a top speed of up to 22 knots, offers accommodation for up to six guests, and has been designed primarily for operation in the Mediterranean.

The new craft has also been engineered as a future-proof platform, with the structure and systems prepared for the integration of a methanol range extender once the technology and infrastructure mature.
