Michael Hansen is to step down as president and chief executive officer of Hempel A/S to take on a role outside Hempel A/S.

The board of directors has activated a search process for his replacement.

On his departure from Hempel, Hansen will take up the position as president and CEO of DFDS, a European leader in ferry transport and logistics, with more than 16,000 employees.

Hensen will, together with the executive group management team, continue to lead the company and execute on Hempel’s priorities until a successor has been appointed.

Hansen will leave Hempel no later than 30 June 2026.

I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together and remain fully committed to leading the business until a successor is in place.
