$50 million investment from Cummins

Cummins is to invest $50 million into its multi-purpose power systems plant in Daventry, UK.

The site designs, manufactures, and distributes 38-litre to 95-litre engines suitable for a variety of sectors, including marine and has bveen operating for more than 50 years.

The announcement forms part of a wider, previously announced $200m global investment programme.

Cummins says the Daventry funding underlines its long-term commitment to UK manufacturing.

The power systems group has operated the Daventry site for more than 50 years and employs over 1,100 people at the site.

It ensures our site remains at the forefront of innovation, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing for decades to come.

The funding will be used to increase manufacturing capacity by creating a new 315 square metre assembly line facility with three new machining centres and upgraded block washing facilities.

Development will also include the refurbishment of test cell capacities, supporting a rising demand for power generation worldwide.
