Catana Group opens new YOT factory

Catana Group has taken delivery of its new factory in Aveiro, Portugal, which will produce all the Group’s YOT outboard and inboard models.

The first two outboard models, the YOT 36 and YOT 41, have been launched commercially, while the first inboard model, the YOT 53, will roll off the production lines early 2026.

The new factory covers 25,000sqm on a 60,000sqm plot and has been designed around the specific requirements of catamaran manufacturing.

The ramp-up of production lines for YOT brand models — in a controlled, high-quality and efficient environment — is now the main objective for the new production unit which represents an investment of more than €30 million for the Group.

The facility will be led by Sylvain Bodin who joins Catana Group, an engineer by training with more than 20 years’ experience within a major global nautical group, where he led significant industrial and supply chain projects both in France and internationally.

For the past four years, up until now, he had been assigned by his group to a motorboat factory in Portugal during a period of strong growth.

“His experience and seamless integration into the local culture will be a major asset to support an already young and talented team, with the Aveiro factory already employing 150 people,” said a spokesperson from Catana Group.
