Italian superyacht shipyard Tankoa Yachts has acquired the Otam yachts business.
The acquisition includes both Otam’s historic Genoa production site and the brand.
Operation of the Santa Margherita Ligure dock will remain with Otam’s former owners.
The acquisition continues Tankoa’s expansion, not only in terms of space and infrastructure, but also with new skills and experiences with the integration of Otam employees into its team.
Tankoa Yachts was founded by the Orsi family and specialises in custom superyacht construction.
In a statement, the shipyard confirmed its purchase of the Otam business, announcing that the transaction was carried out in full agreement with the two owner families.
Operational infrastructure and workshops
Tankoa Yachts first announced its expansion plans in early 2025, and has said the plans are progressing successfully.
The Otam facility includes approximately 4,800 square meters of indoor space, 3,300 square meters of outdoor space, and a in water area of nearly 10,000 square meters.
The facilities incorporate operational infrastructure and workshops which will undergo a renovation and upgrade program.
Concessions will be extended, and the areas will be consolidated and reorganised, with the construction of new production facilities, in line with Tankoa’s current needs.
Italian nautical excellence
In addition to the facilities, Tankoa Yachts will integrate the Otam employees into its team, ensuring continuity of employment and providing the shipyard with new skills and experience.
Tankoa says it is committed to keeping Otam’s heritage alive while it defines the strategy most consistent with its long-term vision.

Otam was founded more than 70 years’ ago and specialises in the construction of high-performance luxury yachts.
