Webasto has expanded its air conditioning range with the new BlueCool VX-Series.
The new units use the climate-friendly refrigerant R32, are available in different performance levels and, have a modular design allowing the product to be scaled for different sized yachts.
The BlueCool VX-Series will initially be available in the 36, 48, 60 and 72 kBTU/h performance levels and is based on a new chiller system with variable compressor speed. The individual, modular units can be centrally controlled and flexibly networked so that they also offer sufficient power reserves in combination for higher heating and cooling requirements.
“The new BlueCool VX-Series from Webasto combines several innovations in one product range,” said Jörg Hornung, vice president battery and thermo management at Webasto. “The different performance levels and the modular concept make the chiller system a real all-rounder for a variety of different application scenarios and boat sizes.
“We are particularly proud that we have been able to set new standards in both the size and efficiency of the VX series in order to underpin our sustainability goals.”
The VX-Series has an energy efficiency ratio (EER) of up to 5.6 and is suitable for a range of applications.
The Webasto BlueCool VX-Series combines high performance, efficiency and compactness in initially four different output sizes, the 36M, 48M, 60M and 72M with a cooling capacity of between 36,000 and 72,000 BTU/h.
The heating capacity of the appliances is between 44,000 and 78,000 BTU/h in reverse operation.
The units intelligently reduce their speed to up to 9% of maximum output when the cooling requirement decreases. Alternatively, the output can be limited manually using the ECO modes.
The VX-Series has a new, robust titanium seawater condenser and an extended user interface of the MyTouch control element, in combination with the VX system bus, allows the individual appliances to be controlled centrally.
